Globe Amaranth (gomphrena) can be grown in your garden, then dried and create incredible floral compositions.

What do you need to know about Globe Amaranth ?

1. You'll grow it from seeds.
2. It likes sunny areas and good watering.
3. Gomphrena should be collected in time for drying.
4. It does not smell.
5. The color of flowers is preserved for two to three years. Then, over time, the color of the flowers begins to fade.
6. Globe Amaranth look good in a bouquet with any dried flowers.

How to dry a poppy for bouquets?

How to dry a poppy for bouquets?
You planted a poppy in your garden. It pleased you with it flowering in the middle of summer, the petals have fallen and only the poppy heads have remained.
These are the heads we need to dry.
Let's start:

1. Cut a poppy of the length you need. I personally cut off cm 20 -25.
2. Make small bunches of poppies, tying them together with a rope.
3. Bring the bundles upside down in a dark place where there is good air circulation, but it should be hot there. The ideal place is the attic.
4. Dry the poppies for about a week. But it depends on the temperature of the air where you dry it.

Can I dry the poppy in the sun?
I had a case when poppies dried in the sun. At the same time, they became almost the same as in the case when I dried them in the attic.
Poppies do not have a bright color, like flowers, so they can be dried in the sun. Perhaps they will become more brown.
Experiment and find out which poppies you prefer the most - those that you dry in the sun or in a dark place.
But remember! Flowers (statice, immortelle and others) can not be dried in the sun!

Why I love dried flowers

Hello! Let's get acquainted. I am Mila and I love flowers.

It so happened that my grandmother instilled this love. She loved to grow flowers and every summer dried bunches.

"So we do not allow the summer to leave. Even on the coldest winter evenings summer will always be with us". 

So it was. In the winter we looked at a bouquet of dried flowers and remembered the summer. We were warmed by these flowers.

I`ve already grew up, but I still have warm memories and associations with flowers. Now I come to a country house and grow flowers. I do not have a lot of them. We leave a part to ourselves, and some I sell on etsy.
